Located in Languedoc-Roussillon, the area is
blessed with a Mediterranean climate, characterized by warm, dry summers and
balanced nicely by the proximity of the Black Mountain (foothills of the Massif
Central), which brings a certain freshness to the terrain. The wind is another
important element that can be troublesome in the early growth phases of the
grapes, but is something that all life must adapt to in the area if it is to
survive. Other than this, the vines grow easily here, as they always have. Thus
it falls to the vintner to understand how to achieve ideal maturation levels
with minimal interference with the vines natural tendencies, and ultimately harvest
at the right moment. |
